Default ok to media blast only some of the car???

    Hello everyone,

Ive got my doors, hood, trunk, and front fenders off so i was thinking about taking them to get blasted, and then i was just gonna use a variale sander or orbital sander on the roof and rear quarters. Would there be a noteable difference between the blasted panels and the sanded panels after the bc/cc???

Also, the car is a 67 Buick Riviera, so would that mean its enamel???

    Cheers everyone!

There had better not be any difference seen. If there is it's not the way in which you stripped the paint, it's everything you did after that. That's the whole purpose of the epoxy and high build primer regimes, to create a smooth, level (waveless) surface. If you were going to simply strip it, apply epoxy primer then topcoat undoubtedly you will see a difference. You will also see waves, ripples, pits, sanding scratches and a host of other sins.

You may want to invest in Len's Painting 101 DVD before you get too far along.

    Edit,
If that's original paint on the car it will be lacquer. If it's had a repaint it could be anything.
