    Default quick all metal question

Is all metal as strong as a glass filler. I need to fill a few small holes and maybe a small crack. And as for going over welded areas is all metal as good as a glass filler

All Metal is like a moisture resistant Bondo and fiberglass paste is fiberglass resin with fiberglass mixed in which is also moisture resistant. The All Metal is easier to shape but the fiberglass is stronger. I usually cover my seams with milled fiberglass paste then use regular body filler to do the leveling but sometimes I'll use All Metal to do the complete job. If you're filling over holes I'd recommend that you grind around the hole, countersink the hole, cover it with foil tape, cut the tape around the hold then scuff the tape and fill over the low spot with fiberglass paste. Filling over a seam can be done with fiberglass or All Metal because it doesn't need to be as strong as when you fill over a hole.

Thats perfect. Only the small holes are next to a body line in the rear quarter and I dont think I can recess the hole very much for the tape. What if I put the tape on the other side of the panel?
