Painting engine block/accessories

Would a single stage urathane hold up well on an engine block and accessories? I can't seem to find a temp rating on the Omni sheets.

We do it all the time...

The important thing is to prepare the block and accessories properly (clean, degrease and take care of rust...) then a good epoxy primer (I use PPG's DP) and then the SS...( I much prefer Concept urethane...covers better).

You can even do basecoat/clear coat on engines, I even did Kandy jobs on blocks...

The secret is in the prep...

Hey thanks alot! I may just use the black bc/cc that i will use on the body. I wasn't aware that it would hold up inder the heat of the engine/engine bay.

I had always figured the same...engine block/heads would be too hot for normal automotive finishes.

Then again, try to place your bare hand on the hood of a black car in the summer, (especially here in SW Florida).

The only place I've had a problem with paint burning off is right around the exhaust ports on some cars.
