Sure enough thats where it was. What a stupid place to put one,I ve bought many cars where it was missing. Thanks you have keep me from pulling the rest of my hair out

You think it's silly that they put it there back then.....well guess what....that's where they still put it today.....how's that for progress.
Actually, if you know that is where they are, it's no big deal.

Chrysler products are the ones that drive me crazy trying to find the paint code. They used to put the paint code on a stamped metal tag riveted tor screwed to the radiator support. Then some move the tag to the fender aprons, some on the firewall. I did a dodge truck a while back that I had to remove the battery and move the main ECM computer to gain access to the data tag with the paint code on it. GM's aren't much better, they put the data sticker with paint code on it sometimes in the glove box, sometimes in the center console, sometimes under the spare tire cover, sometimes stuck to the underside of the deck lid etc etc.
Now Fords are on the rear edge of the drivers door or on the drivers door frame near the door latch pin.

ya, you're right about Dodge being the worst....I forgot about them. I used to work for a Dodge dealer about 25 years ago....sometimes they were a real pain...if you could find them at all..
Take care,
Gordon
