If i get the bike im looking at (CBR600RR) it will need to do some glass and paint work, i figure a quart of primer and a base and 2 quarts of clear should do it, if there are no screw ups.

    Thanks,
    Ryan

Tough to guess-timate without seeing the fairings. I know your paint shop guys will be best at it, but it'll depend in a few things: are you using the primer to build and sand down or just as a base? Do you need a sealer? As for the paint, are you going single stage or base-clear? And of course - what colour?

i will be using a high build primer. then a black base with some flakes or a pearl blue color. is a sealer a must or no? paint is base then clear.

The amount of paint ultimately depends on the quality/coverage of the paint, the transfer efficiency of the spray gun and the manor that the materials are applied. However on a small job like yours I would think that a quart of each should do the trick.

The need for sealer will again depend on the quality and characteristics of the materials. If the primer is a more porous type then it should be sealed so that it doesn't absorb the top coats. If the paint doesn't cover well then sealer will help give you a consistent finish. When you have a lot of unknowns it's probably best to seal it.

I paint a lot of bikes, You will need a quart of primer (if your bodywork is not in need of recoating) 1 quart of paint will be plenty, 2 quarts of clear for adequate coating. You will have clear leftover.
