    Default It's Done!! - Pics

    Here's my 1971 Datsun 240Z.

I want to thank everyone for their help when I needed guidance! This forum was a definite must for someone like me who had never done bodywork. I did everything except for the final single-stage topcoat, which I had sprayed by a pro at a local autobody repair shop.

The front fenders and rear quarters are new, so it took a while to get this done...but it's now time to go for a drive

Thanks again! This is without a doubt the best forum for autobody advice. I hope the URL works.

    Cheers

Looks good. Tell us about the frame repair you had to do at the front.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "frame" because I didn't do anything like that. I replaced the front fenders because of rust near the bottom.

They are known for severe rust thru the frame near the suspension.

    Hey Cool...
Every 40 freekin' year old car rusts - what do you have that didn't?
But, not every 40 year old car rusts in the same place. I have an ORIGINAL 71240Z that has CLEAN inners at the frame. I have a 67 Ford Galaxie with rotted torsion boxes and just did the quarters, inner fenders and floors on my 74 Challenger.

BTW - the 240 here is absolutley georgoes - nice work! Can we see the insides?

I was lucky enough that the previous owners protected the underside and front frame rails better than the outside. So, cars foundation was in great shape, including the floor. It was more or less cosmetic repairs.

Now that is just GEORGEOUS - and a little weird - I painted my race-prepped 240 tricoat white pearl back in 1997! Your's looks btter though!
