Default Man oh Man...finding a place is hard....

I have been shopping for a new place...that's why I've been so quiet...

I just made an offer on one today...so finally, I found one that I liked...its in the country with an acquired right for automotive use (body and car sales...)...I am pretty excited...

The house is so so but the garage is very nice...can't wait...just hope we can agree on price...

After going to numerous municipalities, I realy feel unwanted...its like if you are a car guy, you are a crook and no one wants you in their city...I heard so many nos in the las 4 weeks its incredible...

OH well...Let's hope this one works out...
    My 2 cents worth...

Seems like you just moved into the place you are in now!!

Good luck and one good idea (at least in the States) is to check with local Planning & Zoning department(s) to see if anything is planned for the area even 10 years from now. Henry

    Default Those darn zoning departments...

That's where I get turned down most all the time...

This place I am looking at is now used by a boat builder. It has a garage and a home and a few other buildings...

Its in the middle of an agricultural area and is zoned for commercial and industrial use. The previous owner exploited a used car lot and had a paint shop...Anyway, I put in the condition of sale that I must be able to get the permit from the city...(very small agricultural community...so easier to deal with than bigger towns...).

    I just hope it works...

Default Man oh man...we are 15k appart on a 300k deal...

Gee...I think he knows he's got me hooked...he won't move...I've been thinking all week-end, do I risk loosing the place for 15k...I can buy a paint booth for 15K...a nice one too...

    Darn, if I was rich...

Oh well...I guess we'll have another round of negotiations tomorrow...

The garage is so nice...30 x 60, 16 ft high, completely insulated (walls and ceiling...the guy has 14 inches of cellulose in the ceiling!)...gas heat with an explosion proof aérotherm...200,000 btu...floor is 8 in thick armored high tensile cement...On a 44,000 sq ft lot...With some space up front where you have a right to put cars for sale...Another smaller garage for a lawn tractor and other bits...and two huge temporary structures with a plastic top rented to people that build their own boats...

I guess I am convincing myself as I write those lines...My previous shop was 30 x 50...those 10 extra feets will make alot of difference...

More to come...Thanks for the encouragement...
    My 2 cents worth...
