    Default Lucite storage

I have a pint can of Lucite that has never opened that has been stored in an unheated garage for more a few years. How do I tell if it is still usable or has been ruined? Yes it has gone through numerous below freezing cycles.

If lacquer is still liquid then it's good. You've got to make sure you stir it well before using to get all the sediment up off the bottom. Stir it lightly then pour it into a larger container then pour a little good thinner into the empty container and stir it to release the heavy material into suspension and pour it into the larger container. Do this a couple times until the can is clean.

    Len,

Thanks for your suggestions. Question, can I use the Lucite over a new style primer using hardener? I'm being cheap here, I have some used doors I'm putting on my very used van and I don't see the point of wasting the Lucite I already have.

Yes, the lacquer can be applied over the 2K primers but if you go to repair it again you can't put most urethanes over lacquer. The lacquer would need to be removed before repainting.
