Thanks Len!!! I used the Al's liner $55.00 gun. Al's recommends 50psi or as high as your compressor can keep up. I sprayed it at 125psi & used a very light trigger. I was able to get a nice fine...

I haven't been on here in a while [My little baby girl was born October 8 & I've been busy]. I just finished spraying Al's liner on my truck & figured I'd give a update. I am very impressed with this...
Thanks man.:D
I would like to thank Len & all of you guys for helping me get my paint looking the way it does. It sure makes a man proud to see my vehicle in a magazine. Thank you all.

No problem. I'm no pro, just repeating what I've been told by pros.;)
Thats what I would do. Bugs are worse at night anyways.
I had the same problem with my finishline gun. I asked the same question on this forum & the guys were right. It was the seal on the fluid nozzle. I installed a new seal & tightened the tip with a...
Thanks Len.
I would let it dry to touch, then sand the spot smooth before applying more base. What is your recoat window?
Take a pair of tweezers & remove the bug parts. Make sure that the basecoat isn't damaged, then lay the clear to it. I usually put a coat of clear over the spot, then shoot the entire panel again. If...
Thanks man.
It is finally done & on the road. I Thank you guys for helping me out with any questions/problems along the way. :proposeto

I painted it for now, but I'm gonna wait 60 days then Line-x will be applied. I checked on a product called Al's liner, but it was too rough textured & same price as Line-x.
Thanks Len. Actually, I still need to spray my rear bumper, but everything else is done....except a bunch of cleaning up.
Got a few pics in the sun....its dirty, but sure beats the photoshop pics.
Thats funny. Wait till she needs some lawn furniture painted & she gets on your back about knowing you can paint it fast....it never ends.
No problem, I'll keep my eye open for you.
Since Line-x couldn't be applied for 60 days, I painted the bottom tonight.

Glad you told me this...it is factory ramair hood. Thanks.
Thanks guys. I appreciate the help. I was concerned about the sererity of this cracking...it is kinda spderwebbed cracking that goes to the inside. Just wanted to make sure before doing the work....
Anyone else help me out? I'm suppose to do the repair next week.
Thanks for the info. Can you tell me where I can get the products you mentioned? I won't need to put down a wire mesh to strengthen the repair?
No luck with my emails or the local parts truck...he sold the entire truck. I know I can locate them, but it might take longer than expected. Sorry man.
Any help guys, I'm lost?
My friend bought a Ram air hood for his Pontiac Grand Am. The hood was dropped & the entire corner has cracks which go all of the way through to the inside. I don't know much about fiberglass & the...
I emailed 2 guys about doors. I'm waiting for a answer, let you know. I also left a message with the local guy with the parts truck. I will call around tomorrow to see if a few friends have the doors.
I'm leaving to take my son to the zoo. I'll check around, but give me a few days. A standard cab truck is easy to find. I know where one is at right now....about 30 minutes from my house. I bought...
I may be able to locate a parts truck near you. I am a member of 6 different Dodge truck forums & see lots of parts trucks. If you'd like, I'll gladly throw a post up...might be surprised how cheap...
It wasn't my first time, but it took me atlest 3-4 hours to get everything cut & welded in, seam sealed. 2 Hours is fast.
I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but giving advice from my experiences. I have a 99 Ram & 3 years ago, did a patch on the bottom of my door. I ordered my patch panels inner & outer from LMC...
That is awesome!! Great work as usual Len.;)
Thanks guys. I'm happy to hear that. I just wanted to make sure before I pulled it in the garage. I know some primers can hold moisture & was concerned about adhesion. I'll scuff it to be safe &...
Oh, I thought it might be like Rhino. I have a Rhino dealer down the road, they have very rough texture.
I sanded my rockers to bare metal, coated with Picklex, then epoxy primer followed by 2 coats of MP282 Primer Surfacer [Omni]. The truck has set in the outside elements for 2 months since the primer...
Line-x is $500 for the rockers [over the wheelwells also]. Then they charge $150 for spraying a coating over it call "Line-x Xtra" which is gauranteed not to fade / chip. I was also getting it color...
That AL's Liner looks like a good idea to me. I just wonder if it will hold up like the Line-x does? Here is a link.

I asked him if he could use masking tape first, then the wire tape. He replied "I can't do it that way, we use this tape". I'll check AL's Liner. Thanks.
:scratchch That would be worth the trip right there.
Best painter I have ever seen in my area [by Uniontown] is Bobs Autobody in New Salem, PA. 724-245-6210. He painted my Sister in laws new CRV, My brothers hood on his Ram & he has done many of...
I own a excavating business. I'm constantly going up driveways with fresh, loose gravel. I tow heavy 10k-20k# loads & alot of times into places those loads shouldn't be going. This truck also is a...
Thanks man.
It is gauranteed not to chip or crack....free redo if it does. I know quite a few guys who've had it done, holds up great. Here is a few pics to show what it looks like.

Line-x guy is going to tint the Line-x grey, then he applies a top coating called "Line-x XTRA". He took my paint code for the grey color, he color matches it using Dupont paint. I guess the X-tra...
I'm thinking about painting the bottom of the truck the charcoal grey for now, then getting Line-x before winter. If I do paint it, how could I melt the clear together at the seam where the 2 colors...
Never heard of spray bra? I will check it out. Thanks.
Thanks Len.
I tried calling them, but I missed them by 5 minutes. I'll try on Monday. Thanks.
I think you are right, but I just can't wait 60 days to drive my truck. I'm wondering if I put it in the garage with the heat running full blast, if it would cure faster than letting it sit in the...
