You'll need something like this:

Are you sure it's not DRY spray and not overspray? 2 day old overspray should come off very easily.
Good luck and keep us posted with some more pics of your '68. I just finished mine. :D
Thanks. I used Southern Polyurethanes Universal Clear. It is a very nice product and I highly recommend it.

Yeah I sanded that sucker for hours and hours with 400. It was so faded that it was actually kind of hard to see where I had scuffed it. The only bodywork that was needed was on the deck lid. All...
I chose not to put box fans under my garage door due to the massive trash problem that would create.
I put my fan here:

Those pics were done the day I painted it which was actually in October. I just finally got around to posting them here. Since then I have sanded and buffed it and am extremely happy with it. ...

After seeing the Vette, my father-in-law insisted on me painting his 1992 Olds Delta 88. I tried and tried to avoid this boat, but I caved. I finally got it done a couple of days before Chistmas. ...

Well after many months of body work and freaking out, I painted the car. Other than my neighbor coming over and giving me the third degree about the exhaust from the paint booth I built, things went...
Thanks to all for the input, but I have to be honest with all of you.
This forum is more confusing than helpful. I've watched this forum for the last several months and rarely do any of you agree...
What does that mean?
Ok Thanks.
Which gun will be easier for me to use?
DeVILBISS GFG-670 PLUS
DeVilbiss GTi Millenium HVLP
I will be buying 1 of these 2 only. No other brands considered.
Thanks for the input.
Thanks IceMan.
Ok guys. Without going into a 5 page discussion on the molecular make up of each system, I would like to know what is the type of paint system I should use to get decent results.

Thanks for the advice. Just to be clear, it is OK to wash with wax and grease remover before applying color?
A bodyshop tech told me that once the primer is sanded, there is to be no further wiping...
I spent almost 2 hours sanding a hood that I sprayed in 2K last night because the paper (400 then 600) kept loading up. Question is - Can 2k be wet sanded or will it absorb the moisture and cause...
Holy crap. How did you get to the lower front air dam?
So far I've only gotten as far as applying the 2K. Hopefully color will come soon.

Thanks for putting me at ease guys. My plans are to make the booth 14'x30' and 10' tall. Hopefully I'll avoid a catastrophe or you'll be reading about me in the papers.
:D
Are explosion proof lighting and exhaust fans needed in a home-made paint booth?
http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i57/perksolds/confused5B25D.jpg
Thanks for the advice. I picked up another gallon of the 2K today after work. Figured I had gone too far to take chances now. I'm not the original owner. I've had the car 1 year this month and am...
I'm sure you guys have never heard this one before. I'm getting close to getting color on the vette. I have designed a temporary paint booth, but was wondering if any of you have plans you've drawn...
When I managed a Goodyear Store, we had 2 very large 2-stage compressors that were capable of keeping up with 12 service bays 6 days a week 11 hours a day. I had my employees drain both tanks at...
Len,
Bear with me for a stupid question. If the gun requires 10 PSI at the tip, why would you set your regulator with trigger pulled at 23 PSI? Doesn't that give you 23 at the tip? Wouldn't that...
3M is trying to take over the world just like Home Depot.
Phil,
How do you eliminate the fish eye when the contaminates are under the paint? Right now, I have an area about the size of a quarter that fish eyed on me this weekend when spraying 2K primer on...
Thanks for the advise. As far as sealing... When mixed 4:1:1, the 2K is a sealer. I have been mixing it to be a high build at 4:1: 5-10%.
This seem right?
Also, is it OK to wipe the parts...
Car: 1968 Corvette convertible.
Status: All body work is done. Car is disassembled (hood off, deck lid off, doors off).
Problem: I covered the car (disassembled body) with 3 good coats of...
You should find what you need here:

Alright, I am guessing that the fish eye came from something that fell from my mask because the first coat went on perfect. Now that I'm really not sure what it was, how can I be sure to remove...
Laying down the second coat of 2K primer this morning and wouldn't you know it; my respirator leaked a drop of sweat/condesation right on top of the panel  . Now I have a huge fisheye where it...
Primer - 4 Parts
Activator - 1 Part
Reducer - 5 to 10%
Question is - How do you accurately calculate what 5-10% is?
Getting ready to spray 1968 Corvette Convertible. Will 2 quarts be enough...
