Did you over reduce the clear?
What kind of race car is it? Any consideration to a wrap? Probably would be more durable for the track... just a thought.
Henry,
Yes, that was a message to someone else on youtube who made some bad comments about me and matt, the mustang, and made some references that I am some silver spoon trust fund baby. He also...

Hate to see that. Had a similar thing happen with our mustang. Cranked it in gear and no nuetral safety switch on it yet and backed itself up into a daily driver parked behind it in the driveway. ...
Looks really nice! Is the panelling the plastic type that can be washed down?

This was from 2 days. Some artwork and striping on the bike, with some video of it partially assembled.
Sorry for some of the language on this video...

When we wet sanded and buff the mustang, I burned through the clear to base in a few areas at the edges of panels. I had good luck, scuffing those areas, dusting in some base and clear right on the...
Looking good. So you will now go 400, then 600? Or just 400?
We then decided the parts needed a pinstripe. So quite a bit of masking required to add the pinstripe color after the fact, but it turned out decent.

This is an odd video, no talking through the entire thing and...

You will have to wait and see on the final paint job. I think you will...

Henry, yes it does look like something from american pickers. In fact they picked a couple of Simplex frames from a guy on an episode a while back. I also watch american restoration. I am enjoying...
Well said Henry. Finding Len's site was a godsend for sure. I posted alot of questions on here in the begining, and bought a ton of products from Len to use in the build, including the paint gun...

If your looking for something inexpensive, the VHT line of high temp exhaust paints avaiable at parts stores works well for what it is. The key is to preheat the part before spraying (per the...
Cheap Reducer, or using a reducer that is too fast, can also cause mottling.
Yes, I have a build thread on this forum goign back to 2008, well before I started making youtube videos :) This is a great forum.

It was 100 deg out used slow (high temp) reducer in both the house and brand names.
I had alot of problems with house brand cheap reducer trying to spray metallics, just would not let the metallics flow out evenly, so the grade of reducer is more important that i would have guessed.
Thanks Henry! Appreciate the comments and support!
Not sure on the slow motion.. probably just us working slow! But I did speed up certain parts of the video when we were working to make it a...
Thanks Mooch!
