3M weld bond the channel to door and do as Bob K said. Plus no rusting from welding..............just an idea
Hi and thanks in advance. Looking for 1961 Ford Truck frame dimensions. F100 2 wheel drive. Maybe old frame charts?
Yes same here. Some of the base coats release tail solvents for hours, so time is your friend if not production work.
You said setting up a booth? If used for more then a small spot job one time maybe ok. But spraying bigger jobs then go with explosion rated exhaust fan.I run a torpedo heater out side of booth and...
Hi is this a classic or antique car? If so why cut corners to save a few $. Order the sealer from Len or a jobber near you they may loan you a gun for the 2 part sealer. Just so much better.
Empire Auto Parts Keystone will match there price for the most part. They all have different pricing for shops. Have a shop I do some frame pulling on and car needed a fender and hood so when part...
As Henry and Bob K said. Do you know a shop owner or if you can get a discount on aftermarket parts ? These Parts are cheap Cover like $64.00 cost. So just stick with it and we are here to help.
Please don't take this the wrong way BUT I would stop this project and save up and buy a good compressor ( we can help ) and start learning to do the work youself OR find a good shop and pay to have...
Nice job !!! RED RED RED
As the tech sheet said, give it a resand. just my 2 cents worth some of these 2K primers start to heal back up and need to be sanded. And yes to epoxy inside of fenders.
With Len 100% !! Clear in my Sata 5000b rp ONLY
Take a rag with lacquer thinner and wipe if the coating come off then I would take to bare metal and epoxy prime.
Dave i just sent you a PM thanks
Hi and thanks in advance. Do we have a member on here in the Denver area who be willing to look at an old car that I am thinking about to buy? Or recomend a company who does this. Thank you Tom
Not sure what area you are in but around southern Pa. we have some bigger auto auctions and a lot of detail shops near by.Maybe stop in and see if they would give some advice. Also inside the auctions...
If could only market and sell them................................we would be RICH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the way the newer fillers sand but seam to have more isues with pinholes and micro pinholes try to do what Henry said. I know Evercoat has the Express 440 I think is the name that you wipe...
Phil don't use PPG products but others will chime in. Just an option you could try SPI primers I use and have used their Turo primer but it is not a DTM primer. Shipping is free if not a jobber near...
Seams like the base coat reducer reacted with the sealer. Quick fix and NOT for a restoration hit it with a coat of clear or 2 let it dry and wet sand smooth and rebase your color. The right way sand...
Phil I always do a let down panel and compare to car and most times still don't match but blendable. And most of these are white!!!!!
Hey Buddy " older body men" LoL great tool have used them and still do since the 70's also. take care baubau.
Any one use or hear of CMA clears? A new jobber who stopped in dropped off a sample quart of their fast production clear and have only used it on a fender blend looked good and super fast but can't...
Henry just doing the right side rocker and outter only small pin hole but i feel better to replace and rust protect it. have not even started it yet on another job now. Will let you know when i open...
Funny you brought that up baubau what I told the customer.Parts and materials labor by the hour. Thanks to all
Yes the F150 has a full frame. len is that price including the part?
I have to install a full rocker panel on a Ford F150 standard cab. What is the going price for labor that you guys are charging? I glue them for the most part. Aftermarket part from ABS. Thank
True what PhilV and others said. But these guys do have a lot of talent.
Just noticed this Back in the late 70's use to work in an Oldsmobile body shop and had a bunch of header panel bolts throw in my junk parts and may still have some.If you can't find them let me know....
Yes done every day, and hope you charge or get paid for this operation !!!
Where are you located? On a rough out pull I sometimes will leave the door on closed and pull on the frame machine to move the hinge pillard. I think if you do try to pull this I would anchor a few...
Just remember heat and sunlight is your friend. That Clear by Matrix is good and go what Len said.
Happy New Year to all!!!!!
Like Henry said and also keep checking around for a small shop who has a frame machine who would work with you to measure, pull and square up the unibody for a reasonable price. Let them install the...
Looking again this may be wired into a switch. Is this New ?
Can not see what is printed on the yellow wire. looks like it says ground ? Can you pull the cover off where the wire goes in the lamp and take a pic and post it here. Are you sure it is 120 volts?...
No did not receive anything as of yet. Thank you so much. Will PM
Not sure where the body filler is BUT i would bet there is rust under the filler so remove it and start over with bare metal.
Hi All anyone have frame and upper front unibody dimensions for a 2016 Nissan Versa 4 door sedan? Thank You ...
Like the rest of the pros say on here. I see you are in the DC area? Local shops there have a high labor rate compared to our area Pa/Md line. Just a idea have it towed a shop let them pull and align...
To Big Mer. Another important factor beside the gun is the back up support you will have if you buy from Len at the Auto Body Store here.
Phil is 100% right, don't under estimate this machine....... my old mig was a Hobart Beta-Mig 250 a heavy duty welder and the new Hobart Handler beats it hands down for sheet metal to about 1/4 plate!...
Phil is this the 240v / 110v mig ?? If so I have the Hobart and what a great little machine.
Yes to what Bob K said. 7HRS for paint time on hood or total time on estimate?
to Pete and Cairte go buy new.Stop with the old junk unsafe. Oil fired torpedo heaters are great with clean fuel and some ventilation.
Henry has a good point. What I forgot to say the putty knife i use is heated and bent to about 120 deg. bend and used VERY gently in combo with hands and also masking tape on knife. and yes it sort...
You have to use a wide putty knife and work it up from underside slow and with care. Try a little heat
Glad it is working out for you..... with time and money I am sure a new original bumper would show up. Keep us posted
Welcome to the aftermarket junk world. Try to find a oem bumper cover keep looking. The newer aftermarket covers for late models are a little better quality.
SEM makes a product that matches the grain finish on bumper covers ( pretty close )
