Well I ran into some major issues with this convertible and it set the customer into a bit of a loop, so the vehicle got set aside for quite some time.
Now that I am back to work on it this is what...
I like it it's got a nice tough look to it. Great Job!
Thanks Guy's! As for the power plant I have a 68 Buick GS 400 motor sitting here with dreams of sitting between the wheel wells. And maybe top it off with that fuel injection unit set up from T/A...
Well I changed the rim and tire set up and went with a Buick Turbine wheel off of an older Buick Park Avenue. Just took these last weekend and it looks dam good with the fall folliage.
...
Nice Work! Looks good.
Excellent and love those rims...they are Boss 308's right? Those are the ones I want for my Wagon.
I was wondering what you were up to...........Good for you, looks good, can't wait to see it all done.
I would get the right reducer for the shop tempature. I always use a medium reducer for everything I do. But I do keep my shop at 70-75 degree's even during the winter months.
Case and point in...
Best advise is follow manufatures instructions on the label when it comes to the poduct, as for the gun in time you will get the hang of it.

Your gonna love that Plus gun it's like a water hose. So be careful and pay attention to flash times in between coats. I love my Plus gun and I use it for clear only. I use the old Devilbiss OMX gun...
Wow,........... what is the range in years of the cars? I would love to come to just walk through that field. Love those kind of graveyards. AWESOME!
Looks good!
The ideal of pushing the overspray out the filters isn't good. I would put fans at the front of your booth and put filters at the rear and on the fans, to pull the air across the booth.
Here is a...

Reminds me of my rookie days. I never had the make shift garage, I did everything right in the open. Water the ground and away I went. Had a few show winners too. So what color will this be going...
Well kind of,.......... I took the original molding and painted it body color, and polished the piece over the front wheel. Here is a picture of what it looked like this morning. I just have to paint...
Yes pre-mask is the way to go. Head to your local vinyl shop or hobby shop and they will set you up if they have the right equipment. Is that camaro got wider qtrs on it?

In the beginning:

Oh I really can't do anything other than once the car is done go back in and spray an oily based product up behind the panel via the trunk.
As for my Wagon I will start another thread.
Well since the car is still in limbo none of that work has been done yet. Nothing is welded on yet. I always sandblast and epoxy all rusted areas. I will post pix's of what I do once the customer...
Looks like you got our hands full. And he better have deep pockets to do that beast.
Your Welcome, to be that young and getting deep into a project like that, shows me you love what you do. I believe you can do anything you put your mind too.
Your doing an awesome job, I applaud you. I started my autobody carrer when I was in 10th grade and had one of those siphon blasters. I saved up the money and bought a pressure blaster as time went...
I have to admit if my store screws up they always give me the paint to redo, but it never covers my time. If I know I am running out of paint, I will save what I have left and buy more. The when I...
Nice work Jeff. What's next on your agenda?

Good choice and post pix's when there done with it I would love to see it. I'm a Buick Riviera Lover from way back. My dad use to own 3 of them at once.
Well the GS project got put on hold since the customer had to buy a bunch of parts. So hopefully it will be back in the shop soon, not this coming week but the week after.
So since there is no...
Nice Job what company's product did you spray? Dupont? PPG? Valspar? Sikkens? Diamont? Shermin Williams?
I was wondering where you were.:oath:
Yeah you can use any automotive paint to paint your engine. I used House of Kolor one time. Never took a pix, but it looked dam good when it returned a few years later.
Same goes for the hood and one of the fenders, strippr and sanding were in order:
