    Using the proper product for the scratch that is to be filled is also important...

    Trying to fill a 40 grit scratch by burring it with 2K primer is a sure way of getting shrinkage...

    Just wipe it down with wax and grease remover, that's the safest and most effective stuff you can use. Make sure you let it completely evaporate before clearing, wipe it down then go prepare yourself...
