Thanks for all the kind words. Makes the effort that much more enjoyable. Will post more as work is completed.

Thanks for the info. I had already looked at all the guns you carry and no doubt the higher priced guns are great for painting. I really have no concern for the price of gun but need an answer to my...
This question is for Len and the other experts on this forum. What mini gun would you recommend that does "NOT" create a ton of overspray. Love my plus gun but the overspray is really too much. Need...
Len,
I put this paper in my rack years ago, so wrapper is long gone. Just by feel alone, appears to be finer than 1000. The way it cuts, could be 1500 or 2000.
Thanks,
Norm
Question for the old experts. I have a sleeve of 3M ultrafine wet/dry sandpaper. No numbers on the back for grit description. Had it for some time now and would like to know what grit for ultrafine? ...
So I thought this would be an easy question for all the experts on this forum. Must be a slow day and nobody home.
OK, painted the car and do not like color or end results, long story. Now have B/C clear that has been sanded with 1500 and 2000. Will S/S urethane adhere to this finish without more sanding or do I...
I agree Barry, without the Crown Royal, never would have gotten this far. No need for the Viagra yet, swizzle stick working fine. My problem is elbows and knees. Not sure which will fail first. Hell...
Thanks Barry. Think this will be my last one. At 63 years old, too late to start another big restoration.

No, not my first time but the last one was in lacquer if that gives a clue as to how long ago. Everything on this car was PPG, start to finish. Have a great supplier near by and he gave great advice...
Shot color and clear on my two year project. Still need to cut and buff. A lot of my equipment came from Len. Thanks.

Your first four words were, not a resident expert. Under your name title it states, resident expert. I think you need to take some credit here for handing out very useful information. At least you...
To 58Mark,
I read this entire post a couple of times and still did not see a real answer to your original question. Why so much overspray when the gun is set up to paint a decent pattern? The...
Not a lot of response to this question so I thought it would help to add a link to the PPG website....
After a couple years of resurrection on this old plastic car, time to make a decision on coating products. PPG Deltron will be my base coat but a little confused about possible clearcoat. Looking at...
I can think of several reasons why you "SHOULD" buy from Len. Ordered mine this AM and had the pleasure of talking to Len once again. What a storehouse of knowledge and always willing to help. My...
Good to see you on this website. I knew these guys would help you on your project. Most people consider Len to be one of the best around. When he answers your post, you can bet the info comes from...
Looking for some guidance on color choices as it applies to sealer. Ready to paint with PPG Deltron 2000 Basecoat in the Crystal Red which is a 2008 Cadillac color that is almost burgundy. The...
My neighbor has the same model and he will probably need a hearing aid before reaching 50. I can hear his compressor from inside MY GARAGE!
NEVER leave a water hose turned on and laying near a freshly painted Corvette if there is a small child "anywhere" in the neighborhood!!!:hammer:
Hi Len, topcoat will be PPG Deltron basecoat-clearcoat. That was the recommendation from my local supplier. Must be good material since the four ounces I purchased for a sample panel cost thirty...
Eighteen months of restoration and may be ready for paint? On a couple of very sharp edges, like around the headlight openings of a 72 vet, I sanded through to where the bare fiberglass edge is just...
Thank you Larry. BIG HELP and peace of mind.

Anyone have access to PPG paint codes. Looking for the 2001 Magnetic Red for a Corvette and the PPG book does not call it same. I think it would be the medium red but not sure. Bought 4 ounces today...
Just as a follow up for anyone in doubt of Len and this forum, I called today and placed an order to purchase the Devilbiss 670 along with several other items. I was given the opportunity to talk to...
That answer brings a big sigh of relief. My old guns are not set up to handle the new crop of materials. It has taken some serious research to decide on new equipment and this forum has been a gold...
Did a search for this one and still not sure so why not ask the expert. Len, will the devilbiss 670 plus do a good job with PPG two part primers that normally run at a pretty high viscosity? I know...
Several of the posts have asked this question but you seem to skirt the answer. One more time, what "COLOR" did you paint the car? Outstanding quality work!!!
I think the answer you came up with is like a win on Jeopardy!
I borrow my wife's food vacuum machine made by Reynolds, sold in the grocery store with gallon size bags. Very cheap and works great. Materials like POR15, FUSOR adhesives, and all my activators get...
