The only writing I can make out on the horsecock is:
A 67 00, PIF or PH T
4 ** AVE 416 (or 446)
L.A. CAL.
Wondering if the 416 is actually a Proto fender bumper part # 1416?.. but if it is,...
I have a disease, I collect tools. I have my day to day working stuff & then I have old stuff that I pick up (like 28 bench vises..). Last month I picked up an old Proto 1427 with the hex handle. It...
    That just looks so wrong.... LOL!!
I use Rage Gold & Extreme :)
Plumber left a 6ft lenght of 1in pipe here & it was quickly turned into a bunch of backing plates for welding. 3in to 15in long, some straight & others curved by running thru my slip roll. I also use...
I've used SEM before.. & that was on a Riddler finalist..
My usual comment is "well, I can charge ya $250 to wash it & then I'll let you know how much to fix it.. or you can go away & bring it back after YOU wash it.."
.. yanno, as in doing something a bit cheap for a friend?
Guy wanted me to paint his '75 Kaw Z1 after he slung it up the road. Couple of minor & one major dent & the ducktail needed plastic...
Well, on one hand.... it IS an *easy fix*
but no one in their right mind is going to touch that for $200.....
A month..............
Turn down the air pressure with one arm tied behind your back while hopping on one leg & playing something by Zappa on a kazoo...
Is that better?:D ;)
Bring it......
WooHOO!!

Turn down the air pressure....
:D :D :p
Cardboard  ;)
Block sand what you have & see how straight you can get it with that plan....
I use one of those spiffy looking aluminum boards with a curve on one edge & a hole where ya hold it. Had it for about 4 years & clean up is piss easy.
Picked up some 16g & 20g Stainless scraps...
I shot some this morning outta my touch up gun with a 1.0 tip...:D
I also use a 1.4 for DPLF... & sometimes a 1.3 if it's reduced for use as a sealer.
Is the CVi gun body the same as the Plus/GTi?
I just finished a black car & used a PC 7424(?) with foam pads after the wool/Dewalt rotary. Not a single swirl on the car. Surprised the hell out of myself. :)
Where the hell are you buying paint.... Home Depot????
Just add some fiberglass resin, thats all it takes...
Love the stuff.
Extreme is like glaze, I use Gold.
I did a coupe of weeks back. Sprayed a 2ft wide silver stripe down the middle of the car, waited about 45 minutes & then laid out the stripe pattern & shot the black, unmasked & shot the clear on the...
I keep a handy rattle can of some SEM primer, not etch tho...
It's not quite so critical here in the Mojave where it's 110+deg in the shade & the air is about as humid as a popcorn fart..
Genuine LOL moment:D
Hit the paint dept at Home Cheapo or Lowes, they have laquer thinner, acetone, naptha, mineral spirits etc...
Which reminds me, gotta hit Lowes for laquer thinner:cool:
I once used some white DPLF that had been opened about 18-20 months before. It mixed up ok, but the hardener had turned a darker brown color.
Mixed it up & used it because that was all that was...
Ya could just get him a Sears/Craftsman gift card..... :)
It's not big enough for a soda can... :(
Sears has em for holding gift cards, $2.50 each. Gonna pick up a bunch more next time I see em :)
Already filled it :(

That IS cheap, mine start at twice that...
Home Depot?;) The last car I did had over $300 just in Clearcoat...
Was just browsing that thread.. WTF did he use to spread the filler.. a snowshovel???
Hard to beat those $10 die grinder/cut off tools.
& the DA's they sell will last at least 6 months... if you only use them once every 5 weeks for no more than 10 minutes at a time...
Just get a decent DA, forget the other 3 for now... in fact just forget the jitterbug altogether.
It's a Factory Five spec racer & they cut em in half to clear the rollbars & make working on em a lot easier, the doors are just plain skins & are screwed on.
Drive train is stock Ford 302.
Quick cutNbuff, bit of *minor* assembley required..

This is after some bits were attacked with #2000, but before polishing.....
t always shows thru the epoxy when ya use it over filler/bare metal mix, but when ya lay reduced DPLF down as a sealer over the blocked prime filler it won't show thru...
...... say something vague..... :D
That would work, but I'd hit it with another 2 coats of HB after ya get thru with the 180/wet & hit the new HB with 400wet, bit of a grade jump, but doable.
If I have the time I go with:
3 coats of...
I'd have said "each application" as ya sometimes spray on 3 coats of high build in one go... :)
I can't think of a single time I've seen Bondo brand in a bodyshop... I use Evercoat.. except for FG & for that I use 3M shortstrand because that stuff (unlike Marglass etc) spreads like butter.
Well he's done painting... every single panel is a different shade of met green.. & he even managed to get the fuel door a different shade to the quarter panel & he painted the fuel door on the car...
First thing I'd recommend doing is buying some cheapass $15 gun from Harbor Freight & painting a fence or the side of your garage with it. At least then you'l have an idea of how to handle a gun...
