I'm not sure if any of you guys had the chance to try this system out yet but I had been waiting for an opportunity since the product release.

Well that opportunity came and I ordered some from Len (who will "split" packages) as he does with most stuff saving you some dough.

I found the system quite easy to use and as long as you assemble everything correctly it does not leak.

I used the PPS on my new SRi-W today and was very impressed. All I used to clean the gun was 2 or 3 oz of thinner (through the gun) and another small plastic painters cup with about the same amount to clean the cap, tip, etc.

You can go from topcoat to clear with the same gun in less than half the time because you have no cup to clean.

I know we are all bombared with advertisments about the new, latest best thing. This product works as advertised and lives up to it's marketing.

I agree with you, every since I have used it in my shop I havent been without it. Like you said its quicker, you save on thinner, and its just easier to use. Not to mention you can spray upside down without spilling a drop.

Typical 3M product: Pricy, but hey it works!!! DeVilbiss is coming out with their version and it's suppose to have some advantages over the 3M one of which is that there is no decrease in the flow rate through the gun as there is with the PPS system. SATA, Iwata and others have bogus versions of this system which cannot be used upside down which is the whole point. Like or hate 3M they do have some inventive suckers up there in Minny Sota.

I checked out the Sata system and I agree with Dennis that it's only a substitute for a cup and has no other advantages other than costing you more money for the ability to NOT clean your cup. The DeVilbiss system may be a little more promising because it costs less per use but we'll have to wait to see how their finished product is going to work. I believe the DeVilbiss system will have a liner that will allow you to paint at extreme angles and cost less than other systems. Right now the 3M system costs about $2 per use depending on the size of the cup and liner you use.

What's really amusing about the Sata system is that you need to purchase the 3M adapter for $8 that goes with the PPS then also purchase the Sata adapter to put on the gun for a lot more money... typical Sata merchandising.

By the way we have recently lowered our price on Sata guns and we no longer carry Sata parts. You need to go to a brick and morter store to buy parts that will cost more than they would have if Sata was allowing them to be sold on the web.

I use the Devilbis e-z liners system. I already have paint mixing containers, just pour into the liners. You can paint upside down with these.Once you buy the liner kit and get the bushings, you can just go to the grocery and buy quart ziploc freezer bags. Costs about .03-.04 per use. Just clean the bushings and reuse. Just my .02.

I have mainly Sharpe guns, does the $24 kit in the store include an adapter for Sharpe?
That's all there is to buy - $24 worth?

I'm not sure which "24.00 kit there is available". The one I see is just the two regular sized cups and lids for about that.

You still need to add an adapter for your gun(s) which is about $8.00 or $9.00 and the liners (len sells them for a couple of bucks a piece or you can buy a whole box. Lastly you'll need some inserts for measuring.

Cups, lids, and inserts are buy once use many as is obviously the gun adapter.
It's the liners you throw away so plan to use at least two per BC/CC job or three if your gonna primer before hand

Check out 3M's website (http://products3.3m.com/catalog/us/en001/auto_marine_aero/automotive_aftermarket/node_N0D6GTZ148be/root_GST1T4S9TCgv/vroot_GSLPLPKL4Xge/gvel_LTP71QPF5Xgl/theme_us_aad_3_0/command_AbcPageHandler/output_html) for product info and help with selecting the adaptors. I think Len's site has all the same info.

They have three cup/liner sizes mini, regular and large

Each DeVilbiss cup liner kit comes with a set of adapters for many different gun models. This includes the Sharpe 1000gc, 650c, 555gc and 560gc cups.

Here's the blurb from the online store - states that the Devilbiss kit is $24. It claims to be something other than two lids and cups.

I've found it great for doing those small jobs that require that you get the gun dirty for just a couple of ounces of paint and a quick spray because the liners make the clean up so easy. Try them with other popular makes of gun as well as DeVilbiss because they come with adapters for most popular brands of spray guns. These liners are also great for spraying at extreme angles because your gun will keep spraying even if you need to spray holding the gun upside down.

Thanks Ken, I get it now.

I was a bit confused as my thread started on the 3M PPS and that's what I had in my head.
