Getting ready shoot my 55 Chevy drag car.
It has been flat black for 5 years !
I'm kind of looking at "Tangelo" a HOK pearlescent.
The guy at the paint supply store advises me against doing a pearl.
He says they are impossible to repair.
Plus having to always working on the car
(to get it ready between rounds)
The paint would take too much abuse.
That being the case
Besides: 69-70 Chevy Hugger Orange
or 70-71 Hemi Orange (too dark)
what other orange paints can anyone suggest.
I don't want a reddish orange or dark orange.
Any help woild be greatly appreciated.

HOK Tangelo (PBC32) is easy to shoot and easy to repair. It doesn't cover great so get extra. Use a similar color ground coat (sealer, primer) so it's all one color before you start. It's the real kandies that are difficult to repair. PBC's are easy.

I assume that you will be putting clear on top, so that is what will take the abuse. Just put several coats on and watch the belt buckles when working on it. As for repair, I wouldn't worry about that on a drag car. If you brake an axle and hit the wall matching the paint will be the least of your worries :D
