The video is great.....highly recommend it. You will learn a lot....it is also good for you to read material as well. There is a lot out there to learn about....it's not as easy as just grabbing your gun and shooting.
He'll explain that in the video as well.

Read hot rod articles and books I bought "how to paint your own car" it is a red book with a red porsche getting painted on the cover I beleive.....excellent reading material.

It is a great value and you will re-watch it several times guaranteed.

i'll second that "how to paint your car" book w/ the porsche on the cover. it is a great book to have. and definitely buy the dvd. i bought it about a year after i started doing body work and learned a lot from it

The dvd is exactly what is says-Spraypainting 101. If you know little to nothing about painting cars, it is a great way to get up to speed, and everything you need to get started. I doubt that a seasoned pro would get a lot from it, but maybe pick up a few tips.

I'm just a beginner, but I've taken a Martin Senour short class, watched Jon Kosmoski's HOK Candy & Flames videos, read a lot of magazine articles (I suggest taking them with a grain of salt-they are usually written by writers, not by painters, and frequently contain bogus info), and spent hundreds of hours on this site, studying the Classroom features and reading the archived Forums.

I found that the dvd didn't so much contain info I hadn't already read or seen somewhere, but that it put it altogether for me. You can read a description on masking technique, but when you see it done, talked through, it becomes a lot clearer. Same with spraying technique, blending, etc.-you can read how it's done, but when you see it done, it really comes together.

Books are great, but I'd recommend buying the dvd. Glad I did.
