ive had guys tell me the base needs to be sanded before clear ive never done that and my paint always come out good looks great after i buff (thats my opinion) any suggestions welcome
I use several different brands of paint and NONE recommend sanding between base and clear. Read the tech sheets for the products you're using and I think you'll find that the base doesn't get sanded unless there's something wrong or you wait too long and you're out of the "recoat window".

That's a folk tale...just forget about it, the guy that told you that is full of hot air...modern systems require that you do not sand the basecoat...imaging sanding into a metalic or pearl basecoat...it just makes no sense at all...

The re-coat window is just how long you have before applying the Clear. Once outside of it then you would need to scuff/sand the base and apply another coat of Base before the Clear.
