Hey my nephew brought his car over with a window problem, when I got inside the regulator (front part of it) was bent bad and then snapped off. I don't know how this happened but I know the car was badly abused before he got it. Can you tell me how to get the regulator out and put a new one in. I see where it unbolts and how to get the glass out but how in the heck do I get it out of the door.

Thanks

Brian, try this - with the window all the way up, duct tape it in place from the outside (top part of the door/winow frame). Unbolt the regulator and the uppr arm/roller should slide out of the channel attached to the glass. If the regulator arm is at the wrong angle taking up too much room to physically get it out of the door then either use your window power button or you can use another battery or battery charger to move electrically operate the regulator to where it will fit out the hole in the bottom of the door. Most of the cars now have large pop rivets holding the regulators in place, instead of bolts.

I will have a look for that. Sounds like a good idea to me. Ihave never had one of these things apart and GM makes working inside the doors quite a job.

What kind of car do you have? I just sold my 99 Grand am. I put a regulator and motor assembly in. I got a great deal at a1 electric.com.
