What pressure are you spraying base coat at? I read somewhere to set 15psi at full trigger inlet pressure. Anyone doing something different?

The factory recommendation is 16 PSI (inlet pressure) with the trigger pulled.

That all depends on what aircap you're using. With the purple aircap you spray as low a 5 psi (no that is not a misprint) with the normal silver aircap you shoot at 16 PSI for base and 20 PSI for clear (yea I know Iwata says you can spray clear at 16 PSI but it peels, go to 20 and life is great.) For an excellent discussion on this topic go to the Dr. Gun message board on ASET's website where Dr. Gun lays down the law. Hub is THE MAN. Sharpe/Graco screwed themselves when they let him go.

It's good Iwata info (but from what I've read) he's being paid by Iwata so his opinions can be taylored closely so that the answer is almost always an Iwata product. I guess it's a good thing they make decent spray guns.

Your obviously correct Len. Hub's being paid by Iwata or ASET to sell the goods but he does provide useful information within that context. For example instead of insisting on the Iwata party line of 16 PSI he openly admits you've got to go to 20 to get the job down with high solids clears. So yes a grain of salt is recommended but Hub still provides useful information.

I agree, from the info I've seen him provide about Iwata he apparently knows his business.
