I bought a stud welding gun that came with three tips and three sizes of draw pins. I assuming that the heaver pins are for heaver metals I would use the larger draw pins. But the little pins seem to really stick well. Is my assumption correct.

Also where is a good place to get replacement draw pins.

Thanks

The smaller one sticks better maybe cause it's getting more amps in a more smaller concentrated area compared to normal size. Not sure but that's my guess. But you are correct about thickness. Trigger it lightly or you'll burn a hole in the metal, especially for Hondas for some reason.

If the sheet metal is not really super clean, then any diameter pin will blow holes or leave pits behind. If you have problem getting all paint off, way down into a tight crease, I lightly sand blast the area. Hope this helps.

Below is a LINK to all the stud welders that Len carries along with the accessories. I got the shrinking tip from him as well. Check out the different pullers, etc. You can get all the studs you want right here. Henry
