View Full Version : Seatbelt R&R question

I am replacing the front seatbelts on a 1988 E-30 BMW. I need to remove the interior panel that covers the door post that covers the retractor part of the seat belt. I've never done this befor and don't know how to properly pull this panel.

I noticed, where the panel is loose, that it looks like it just pulls off. If I pry the panel back somewhat, there is a small stud looking thing that apears to push into a hole in the metal siding.

Does anyone know how to pull this panel?

Thanks for any sggestions

Trying to make sense of what you're saying but it should peel right off. Look for garnish plugs first and remove that and the screw. Then peel it right off slowly. Make sure you tighten any hardened bolts back up properly. They say to torque but remember how tight it is and that should be good enough.

Thanks for the come back.

Sorry about the poor description of the problem. I was able to get the panel off. I had to buy a panel removal tool. I was carefull to tighten the bolts like you suggested.---------------Thanks for the heads up:D .
