View Full Version : Color Sanding Special
I worked a deal with AirVantage and I'm able to offer the popular sander with an interface pad and 3M finishing film for a reduced price. Check it out on the Specials Page or link to it below.

How many 1500 discs come in the box? Do you know the orbit{stroke} of the sander is 3/16,3/32?

The box of Finishing Film comes with 100 disks and the sander is a 3/32" throw.

Thanks Len, that does sound like a GREAT deal. One more thing does the sander come in any different orbits or throws?

Yes, if you like you can call and order it with a 3/16" throw.... 1-888-485-5008
Ask for the AirVantage Special with a 3/16" throw sander. Most folks want to do their color sanding with a tighter throw but if you want a larger orbit it's no problem.

Yep, that's right, use it dry and the dust acts like a guide coat and shows you the orange peel and nibs in the surface as you sand. Wet sanding hides the surface until you wipe it dry.

I've got one of these specials in my cart now , how many disks would one expect to go through on a full size Chevy truck? Base~clear , paint is about a week old , moderate peel and a little dirt and bugs.

Hi Ray
To be safe I'd get at least a half box of the 1500 grit disks and also get a Nib File to help level the bugs and dust particles. If the peel is pretty bad you'll probably be safer getting an entire box of disks.

Thanks Len , I ordered the special so I presume that comes with a box of 1500. Just so I can get this one finished then i'll have a better idea how much paper i'll need for future work.

25 to 35 disks for the truck. This all depends on how deep your peel is. If you have a lot of dry spot and heavy peel then you will use more and if that is the case you should probably go with 1000 to start the cutting action. Doesn't take too much to get dirt and bugs out as it does peel. What kind of compound are you using and polish and buffer? Henry
