Nooby question here: my wife took a trophy buck with our Honda Accord, and so I bought a new replacement hood and fender which came pre-primed. I want to paint them to match the factory paint. Do I just scuff this primer and re-prime with new primer to match my paint system, or do I scuff it and go straight to the color coat?
Thanks in advance.

I would scuff them with a red scotch brite pad and seal it with the proper color sealer. It will take less base to get complete coverage. Could probably do both panels with a sprayable quart with some leftover

If the parts have a CAPA certified sticker on them you can scuff and shoot. If they aren't certified take some thinner on a paper towel or cloth and rub it on the primer, if it comes off with thinner then it's not "E" coat so remove the transport primer from the outside surface of the hood and prime with etch or epoxy primer then paint.

If these are A/M {Taiwan} parts, make sure they fit before you do ANYTHING.
Even a CAPA sticker doesn't insure that every part is going to fit!
