:D I want to thank all who helped me out on painting the hood, fender and bumper with getting the gun to work and using a silver metalic. other then the bumper and fender the hood looks great except for a few specs of dust, the bumper had a reaction to the paint so I stripped the paint off and tried again looks good and the fender well got a big sag and again had to wash off all paint and primer and by golly second time around looks good. I swear I will never use Omni again as it was a bugger to get the right coverage on the basecoat. When I get ready to shoot the econoline I will not be cheap. Some guy was at the parts store and got a pint of gold paint $400.00. One other question is when doing the metalic what number strainer do you use?
One other thing what is with these cooks posting there ads on the board. Any who thank you very much

 Wow!! It must have real gold flake in it:rolleyes:

Why would a pint of paint cost so much, and what brand was that? Is gold a difficult paint to manufacture or something?

Glad your project is coming along.

i think with the gold the pigments are expensive, plus the amount of metallic.

for strainers, ive always used those paper ones from my jobber and never had any problems

Roger, there is only one type Econoline years 61 to 67 the other years are well like other years. Yup the paint was a ppg gold in color not sure base or clear, and I am not sure if it was mixed there or ordered in but $400.00 here in hick town USA, the only other car that would be on the same idea is a citation wrapped in shiny gold duct tape.
Again thanks alot .

:D An "early" fan huh?.. I'm partial to the 69-74s myself. Matter of fact, I have a 69, and a 74 right now. The 74 has been an on and off project for several years now.
