yet another problem with my lebaron.... eventually this car will be every cent i didnt pay for it...

my top is basically shot, the stiching is popping out, it leaks, etc but i dont want to put a new top on, i dont have the money.

this is my newest dilema. i was planing on just siliconing it, but i know tha twill only postpone the inevitible for a short time. any ideas on rejuvinatiing this canvas and repairing this wonderful hole?

and remember buying a new top isnt an option....

The quick and cheap method is to use some black cloth tape in the inside and press the fabric against it.

I would use the iron on canvas repair product of as close a color as you can find on the inside. If you're careful putting it on it will not be very noticeable. I think I used the hot iron on one side and a heavy flat metal on the other side. Pull the tear closed as much as possible when ironing on the patch. I repaired a canvas boat cover like that and was quite pleased with the result.
I think I bought the stuff at a fabric store for around $5.
