Fixing Door Dents

Attached is a picture of a dent on my driver side door down on the front bottom edge. After I removed the paint and bondo, this is what I found.

The dimensions between the holes are about an inch and the holes are where probably somebody using a screw and slide hammer. That crease between the holes is about a 1/4 inch deep.

I'm not able to access the back because the door structure is in the way. The door is from a 65 comet so door skin are not available ( that I'm aware of).

How would you recommend I tackle this?

All you have to do is get a torch weld the holes closed. Then make sure the rest of the door in the area is straight then just lay some mud. Put a nice base coast and block but dont make it perfect then a VERY LIGHT slim coat. block that with some 40 on a board then shape it with some 80 on a board.

To each their own ways..but i would mig weld them shut ,then if you have a stud welder,at least try and pull the low spots out,then either use metal 2 metal filler or fiberglass short strand after grinding it well,then a light coat of filler,cut with 80 to level followed by metal glaze or some polyester putty starting with 120 grit and finishing with 320.then prime.

Pull out the dents, MIG the holes closed then fill it with Metal to Metal or Ultra Glass then polyester putty. I usually finish my filler work with 180 then I prime and paint.

...I don't have a stud welder so I'll have to use a screw and borrow a slide hammer to pull the dent out....

I'll Mig weld the holes after I get the surface as close to flat as I can.

If you have a mig, I would take some ordinary flat washers, grind a straight flat side on them and tack them to the door along the bottom of the crease. Use 2 or 3. Then just use the hook that comes with the slide hammer instead of the screw. My experience with the screws is that it pulls the edge of the hole out and the area immediately around it where the washers welded in the crease pull it evenly along the damage.
However, it's whatever works for you.
