We were notified by our warehouse that Ingersoll-Rand would be selling their popular Model 231 Impact in a "special edition" for a limited time and the price is right. If you do any tire changing this is a chance to get a decent impact wrench at a good price. See details below.

I will argue that the IR 231 is the best of the best of any half inch impact ever made by anybody. I have used dozens of different impacts over the years. I got my 231 in the late seventies. Beat the living daylights out of it. Done nothing to it. I bought it because at that time, the world standard, Chicago Pneumatic went to hell with Chinese crap, you just could not trust them any more, and the IR was available for a good price in the Grainger catalog. I never expected it to be as good as it is. Every dog gets lucky at least once.

I don't know Grainger's price but I sell the standard IR231 for $109.95 and the "Limited Edition" 231 for $139.50. I have the Special linked below but you'll need to call for the standard model.

I don't know Grainger's price either, but thirty years ago it was about the only game in town. Grainger has not been much of an advantage in some time. They do offer some pretty good discounts to established industrial customers if you are on good terms with the rep, but other than that, there has never been much of a price advantage. And absolutely no buying advice for the lone consumer. You are on your own.
