Ok, I bought a new project car ('73 AMC Javelin) and I've started stripping it down to do some work. As I usually do to start out, I take a hammer and chisel to anywhere I see paint bubbles or filler cracks and I knocked all the filler off. Here is what I found:

The repair appears to be very old. Taped to the inside of the quarter panel is a reciept showing that the panel was ordered directly from American Motors when they were still in business. The panel is brazed on, badly. The beads are not ground down at all and there are large open gaps in two places which were filled with body filler. For one: I do not trust brazing, and two: I dislike filler, especially at this kind of thickness.
What I want to do is get this panel off, re-fit it, and MIG weld it back on. I would like any opinions or tips on doing this without cutting anymore out of either the roof or the quarter panel, as there is already a gap between them I will likely have to patch. I also need some pointers on getting all the brass off the panels since I know brass and welding don't mix well. Any help would be appreciated.
