First post I've lurked around this site for a couple of years for info even ordered some items from Len and finally desided to register. My current project is trying to figure out how to redo the woodgrain on the garish moldings and the dash on my 41 chevy 4 dr special delux fleetline the PO painted it all brown with a brush any suggestions or help would be appreciated. TIA Dave

Go to any of the major paint suppliers in your town. Sherwin Williams, Porters Paints etc. They will show you how to use a graining tool and will sell you the right products for reworking the wood dash. They will need a piece of the dash to see how to do the color matching though. good luck. .jmo

The time and/or money spent will probably result in the quality of the result. Check out the folks linked below, they are friends of mine and may be able to help you. They can sell you the graining kit or they can do the parts for you.

The factory process is done with an etched printing plate and a large soft roller. You spray a base coat and then lay down a printers ink.

You can buy the kits from this place:

Poke around on their website as they have videos of woodgraining that make it look so easy.

There is some more stuff here:

Hope that helps some.
