This one came in really nasty but cleaned up well. I ended up having to buff the whole car because it had stains that a polish on the rotary wouldn't touch. It appeared that some kind of chemical was spilled on the trunk/quarter panels on both sides that really deadened the paint. Other than cleaning I painted the front and rear bumpers.

You know I like to see your work because you do a nice job. (I think Robert would be proud of you also.)

How come you removed the bumper covers?

What did you use to clean the mats?

Buy these animals a finger nail clipper. I can't stand slobs like this. The unclutter you did (making the car look new again) should last people like this a couple miles down the road. Then, the first stop at McD's will end it all. Also, we work so hard to get them looking as goods as you did (again) and people (slobs) have no appreciation as they know NOT what goes into the paint work alone, never mind the detail work. Good job!

Thanks I appreciate it! I took the covers off because I'm not crazy about actually spraying in my garage anymore. I have a popcorn ceiling in there and always get tons of dust from that as well as anything else laying around that I can't clean up. I actually bout a 10x10 tent from wal mart and set it outside between my house and the house beside me, wet the ground down and spray away. The overspray doesn't seem to linger as much and the jobs come out cleaner. Obvisouly that is for small stuff and anything larger I will take it to a booth. Just can't justify driving 45 miles round trip and paying $75 to use a booth for a few hours. On top of that charging an extra $75-$100 for doing a cover. I have a BMW coming Monday. Buffing the car and painting/installing 2 new bumper covers. The interior is almost flawless in it so it's mainly just an exterior job.

A place to work is always a problem. That goes even if you have a shop. There's just no room!

A word about your tent: They love to suck in moisture and act just like a 'greenhouse'. This can be adverse to what you're dong and also, they love to collect dew inside on the ceiling at night. This dew drops down in drips on anything below.

Can you share what you used to clean the mats in the Accord? I have some tricks of my own developed over 25+ years of "making things look nice". I'd be willing to share (via PM) products that work, don't work (on fabric, vinyl and paint). Some of these I picked up from ROBERT as well.

It's actually just a 10x10 canopy. I take it down whenever I get through. I don't really spray at night. If I do that I will spray in the garage. All I used on the mats was washing detergent for clothes and a scrub brush. Any spots that were left over after drying I used Folex. They actually make scrub brushes that attach to the porter cable 7424 that I would like to buy for cases like this one.

What did you use on the leather? Seems like any leather cleaners I buy don't clean and most everything else seems too strong.

Looks great!

Buy some Woolite and mix it 6:1 with water. Obviously the 6 is for the water and the 1 for the Woolite. It makes for a good carpet cleaner too. There is also another place where you can get some quality leather supplies. It will probably get deleted because it is another forum. I have no affiliation with them and not sure why it would because this is a paint forum but who knows. The guys name is Roger Koh. You can message him and he will tell you what he recommends for what you have.
