Im totaly new to auto body repair & auto body painting. I know some auto body guys and two painters from a porter job I used to have in a bodyshop. I was intrested and stayed after hours to help the painters prep cars and always wanted to stay after and get some knowledge & experience from the body guys too... they never stayed after though because all their work was done by the time I got off. Anyways the first car I got is the car ive wanted all my life growing up but the body and frame is so rusted, rotted and dented up that I don't know if it's fixable or what. I want some opinions. Also the passenger side rocker panel is messed up from a accident drifting to fast around a corner. I went to take off the front and back bumpers and bolt heads are breaking off on me. How am I going to get the bumpers off now lol? I will post pics of the rust tonight and pics of the frame and rocker tomorrow.
If we have small bolts breaking off we will apply penetrating oil and allow them to sit for a couple days to see if it helps. If the penetrating oil doesn't help we snap off the heads which releases the bumper then we deal with the broken studs after the bumper is off the car.
If you have larger bolts that have nuts on them you can heat the nuts with a torch which expands the nut and loosens the bolt so that it can be removed. This is one of the few jobs left for our oxy-acetylene system.

That was my other account Len you can delete it if you'd like. Thanks for all the help with the posting problems. What kind of penetrating oil? I won't be able to get pics of the rest of the damage until monday.
PB Blaster is the BEST penetrating oil....
Just my humble opinion....
I'm thinking an RX7 has a bunch of 10mm head 6mm thread bolts going in to a metal retainer to hold the covers on{I could be wrong,been a while}
Try soaking w/blaster,and alternately loosening/tightening the bolt,most of the time this works.
If not,I'd just tighten them till they snap,and as Len said,deal w/it off the car.
Usually,a touch of heat on the nut staked to the retainer will let you twist it out w/ViseGrips...
Good Luck!

Yes they are 10mm heads. It looks like it would be hard to get in there with vise grips... I might have to take off the pop ups. On monday I can take more pics of things. Thanks i'll try that PB Blaster.
