I was looking for suggestions on how to polish out those hard to reach places. I've got a 30's sedan with gutters and protruding door hinges. I recently sprayed with black bc/cc, and it didn't lay down flat in these areas. I have a Makita buffer with a wool pad and a 3" pneumatic buffer with the foam pads Len sells. I can only comfortably get a full polish within about an inch on either side of the gutter. That's just not going to cut it.

When I need to polish close to a protrusion I usually mask anything that could get hurt then I can press my pad up against it to get close. If you sand that area with some 3000 to 5000 grit you can probably rub it out by hand.

I double masked my gutters with two different colors, used some 1000, 2000, and a well used trizact 3000 disc by hand, and then used a bit more pressure with my Makita pad and Sure Finish. That got about 90% of it. I guess I'll use elbow grease for the last bit
