Ijust got done wetsanding my 62 ford galaxy with mirka abralon 1000 grit 6" sanding discs. These worked great to remove the op.I then followed that up with the 2000 grit pads using them wet of course. These made the buffing go so much easier. This is my first time using them.I kept my da at half speed. No more hand sanding for me.Len you should carry these.

Those pads run about $80 for a box of 20 sheets right? I tried a few of those when I was working on a carbon fiber counter top. Those are amazing. I love Mirka's sand paper.

Right now I'm using eagle tack at the shop and I wish my partner would get the abralon pads :(.

How long do those last? How long does one 1000 and one 2000 sheet last?

Would you recommend using the 1000 or a lesser grit of the abralon for removing dust nibs? Or would you recommend removing dust nibs by hand with 800 - 1000 and then going over everything with the abralon.

From one man to another trying to save time :).

I've added 1000 and 2000 to the 4000 grit in the store. We won't be carrying the 1000 or 2000 in 5 disk packs like the 4000 but we will be selling the 1000 and 2000 by the box.

90% of our sand paper is Mirka. I just tried the 2000 grit because our supplier wants us to stop buying the 3M 3000 Trizac.
It felt like it had more grit than the 3000 trizac paper. It does polish up great.
