There are going to be more later today. I'm buffing out an old Rolls and will get some shots of that.

Of course, Len has my very informative and compelling video "Detailing for Enthusiasts" (a great stocking stuffer, etc., etc.)

All the best,
Robert

Strange, but they wouldn't play. Had only a black screen with the spinning white dots while all other youtube videos played just fine???

I noticed on the video where you are buffing and polishing the Rolls that you don't have any halogen lights but you do have a light on your head. What kind of light is that? Also what kind of prices do you charge for something like that? Is there a standard hourly rate or just by the job?

A paint correction can go anywhere from $150 to $650 depending on how much work is involved and just how perfect the client might want it.

That light will drive you crazy because it will let you see flaws and mars that would slide right by otherwise. My thinking is, if I can see problems and fix them my clients can't even see, then they'll have nothing to say but WOW when they see their cars. So far, that's been pretty much the case.

That Rolls had scratches so deep on the hood they were like it had been keyed. I didn't go for flawless, just a good decent and worth the money effort.

Take Care,
Robert

Yeah I'm pretty picky with my buffing and polishing. I've got a Dewalt buffer and use a porter cable da polisher. I don't do this stuff all the time but I like using dual halogen lights and still pull the vehicle in the sun to make sure I've gotten everything. The head lamp wold work well for doing hoods and tops though. It says it only has up to 2 hours run time on full power. That about right?

I never run that light on full power, it would burn my eyes out. I wear an apron and sometimes take the light off and clip it with the adjustment to the apron so I can use it to see the sides. (video demo to follow! thanks for the idea) I have two of these so one can be on the charger while I'm using the other.

Take care
Robert
