Picklex over paint???

I tried searching this topic with no luck.

If I'm applying picklex to an area I have sandblasted or grinded to bare metal where there is still paint near the same area, is it OK to get Picklex on the painted area as well. I will be spot blasting rust areas but plan to keep most of the original finish on the car. Is that OK?

While I haven't experienced any negative effects of Picklex over paint I don't recommend it because of the oily residue that results. I'd recommend that you pour the Picklex into a paper cup and use a small brush to apply it to the metal spots. This will keep it where it belongs, on the metal, and not sprayed on the adjacent paint spots.
