bare metal bed sides

I purchased bare metal bed sides. They have been stored for over a year in my basement which is humidity controlled to about 45%. There is no rust on them. It looks like maybe a film was sprayed on the from the manufacturer. What would be the steps I would take to finish paint them with Centari?Thank YOu.

In order to end up with the best possible result you may want to pick up a copy of Spray Painting 101 however without that you can try the following....

1. Clean the surface well using a good grease and wax remover.
2. Scuff the transport primer with some 400 dry or 600 wet sandpaper.
3. Clean again by blowing/wiping off the dust then again using grease and wax remover.
4. Right before you apply your paint wipe the surface with a good tack cloth.

There are a lot of variable like the way the surface is cleaned, the way it's sprayed, the type of spray gun used and the settings etc., etc. that's why I usually recommend the video.
