Just curious what people do about assembled panels that harbor rust that is out of sight?
Like cowling areas rocker panels, etc.

In many cases it's ignored because it can take a couple of decades to cause problems but there are ways to slow it down or prevent it. There are rust prevention kits, like the one below, that come with a wand and a liquid and a hole is drilled in the end of the chamber to be treated, the wand inserted and the trigger pulled while baking the wand out of the hole. This coats the inside of the parts to help prevent rust. To help prevent rust it helps to know what causes it, water leaks will cause problems so use a good seam sealer wherever possible and VENT the trapped air spaces so that moisture that does get in can evaporate. We usually will vent to the passenger compartment when possible so that our vent holes aren't subject to the weather.
