I bought the surefinish gallon and pad kit aeons ago, but used it for the first time recently. Of course, I don't have the paperwork any longer.

What are the various pads for? I know the wool pad is for initial cut. But I also have a different wool pad, a black foam pad, an orange foam pad and a yellow foam pad. I can't see any differences in the foam pads.

Regardless, I used the wool and the black foam pad one a bike and it came out sparkling, deep and reflective as it should.

thanks...and yes, it's me

If the Sure Finish has been sitting for a long time be sure to shake it a little before you pore some into a squeeze bottle.

The foam pads go from hard (orange) to medium (white or yellow) to soft (black) and the harder the pad the faster it can cut but it also can leave more swirls. We use mostly the orange pad but if the paint is dark in color we will also use softer pads to finish the polishing so that we have less swirls.
