Howdy everybody, just wanted to take a minute to thank you PhilV, Len, MartinSr and everybody esle for your help with my stretched hood panel. I finally got a few minutes to go in the shop last night. Three kiddos ya know. I did just as you said, heated an area the size of a dime or so, tapped with a hammer, and quenched with a wet rag. It drew that area up and the crown is back in that area of the hood. It wanted to stay flexed down before, but stands up proud now. I had to work the actual spot I heated a little with a hammer and dolly, maybe I didn't tap it hard enough when hot. It doesn't matter though, as it worked. Took just a few minutes to do. I also found the slightest ridge when it came back up I hadn't worked on yet. Got that flattened out also. You guys are super, and my confidence level just keeps rising. Not any doubt I am going to be able to tackle this restoration project, with your help and advice. If I live long enough, that is. Have been working this hood for a coule weeks now. Going to try and put my hood back on the car today to see how it fits. May have to try and bend that side support of the frame a little more. We'll tackle that when the time comes though. Thanks again for all the great advice on this and the other issues EVERYONE has helped me with. Merry Christmas Ron;)
