View Full Version : 1st time using da to colorsand ?????s

I have always colorsanded by hand wet 1200-1500- 2000 using meguiars paper & 3m compounds. The labor intensive work is gettin to me ( gonna be 59 in march). Im a one man shop and id like to try the finish film or trizact system on a 70 buick electra hood fresh painted 3 coats with single stage ppg concept gm ermine white. What can you reccomend for a ist timer. I will need a special da also,Right. I use a makita 7267 buffer. Thanks mike

Use a good 3/32" X 6" DA like the AirVantage with a hook and loop pad.

Since this is your first time I'd recommend using 3M's 1500 Finishing Film DRY along with an Interface Pad.
Sanding dry allows you to SEE exactly what you're doing so that you don't sand too much or too little.

After you go over it with the Finishing Film switch to 3M's 3000 Trizact and use it wet to remove the 1500 scratches.

Once you sand and polish your vehicle using this method you'll never do it by hand again. :)
