I drove it for 7 or 8 years until it was in a staged accident about 10 years ago. Bob

Cool car Bob, but what in the heck is a "staged" accident?

It's an accident "staged" by someone, usually illegal mexicans in the San Francisco Bay area, to collect the insurance. 18 wheel truck drivers are a favorite target because the perps know the trucker will have insurance.
Geez Brian.:dunce: (see above)

Of course I know what a staged accident is, what was wondering is if THIS car was actually in one and what were the cercomstances.

I'm sorry I didn't choose the perfect words for you Mooch. I more meant to ask "What do you mean staged accident" meaning explain yourself, did YOU stage it?

I am sorry to mess up your weekend and leave you tossing and turning all night with this in your head. It really isn't that complicated.

Those s.o.b.s should be first waterboarded and then shot!

How dare they wreck a '69 Barracuda!:headphone

there is sometimes reason why we stereotype.

Yep. Two Mexican nationals and a Salvadoran in a clapped out Datsun caused it.
An LAPD officer recognized one of them from an accident one week earlier and arrested them. They skipped town after booking.

They pulled in front of, slammed on their brakes, and wrecked a very nice 60's or 70's Mercedes large sedan driven by a 74 year old woman who received a broken nose and was carried away on a stretcher. I ran into her, and my engine went into the radiator. And have you priced 1969 Barracuda grills recently?! The woman behind me avoided crushing my rear end by swerving up over a very high curb and passing me on a dirt jogging path. Blew all four of her tires and dislocated the rear axle from the brand new Jeep Cherokee she had just picked up at the dealer the night before.

I saw red for only the second time in my life after the cop talked to me, and ran toward the jerks who caused the accident. A very large Highway Patrolman (say 6'6" and 250+ lbs) casually stepped into my path, causing me to stop, and very calmly said, "Sir, I don't think that would be a good idea."

Ah, well, the car's finally back together, mostly, and now has an older, more experienced driver, and better brakes.

You put a slant 6 into a v8 car? well you just dropped the worth of car from 26grand to 400 dollars. Even less since the waterbase paint you put on wont last 5 yrs. Just a note your b5 blue your so proud of is 2 shades to light b5 blue is darker. You got the gm blue.
