Hi all I am new to this forum and I have done a dumb thing in a repair I am making on my AC/Cobra replica fender.
I had a spot repair where the damage was throught the color and clear coats. I did the repair/fill and it looks good, and then did the high solids urethane color coats and feathered them in so it all looked very nice.
Then when I was ready to shoot the catalized clearcoat I realized that I did not have the correct clearcoat for the paint and the one I had was NOT a catalized clearcoat and not up to OEM standard for hardness or chemical resisteance, etc. So now I have the correct clear coming but will not have it in hand until Friday. I painted the color yesterday (Monday).
What do I now have to do to make the clear adhere properly to the color coat as the correct time window is now gone for the proper application?
Can I just wetsand or 3M pad the color coats I applied yesterday and spray one more thin wet color coat on just before applying the clearcoat (after I have it in hand!)? Or do I need to do more?
