When spraying the inside of a truck bed using my method it's mandatory that you use a supplied air breathing system because you're spraying in a space where the overspray is bouncing right back into your face.
I climb into the bed and spray a medium coat on the front and sides as I back out. I allow the paint to dry to the touch then climb back in and spray the front sides and bottom as I back out again. I really dump a lot of paint on the floor so that I only need one coat but if it doesn't cover well I'll apply two coats by climbing back in and walking on my first coat.
You want to be sure to paint UP under the side rails and the tailgate jambs so that you can close the tailgate when you're finished painting the bed interior. Mask off the top rail starting on the inside and over the top when painting the inside then when you paint the outside lay masking plastic on the bed floor and attach masking paper up under the rail. I would also recommend spraying the truck roof at the same time you spray the bed interior so that you don't need to climb over your wet paint to get to it.

thanks for the reply len, i have a question on clearing the inside of the bed after you have finished the base. are you getting back in the bed to clear or do you lean over the side to spray the clear? i feel like i would track dust and junk on the base with my shoes if i were to climb back in after base coating.thanks again

I'm anal about this, so I do it in stages. I tape off the floor and I paint the side panels and the front one day then wait a few days and go back and paint the floor another day. So i'm not dealing with the whole thing at once. Although some trucks don't have seems to tape it off at,.. then I do the whole thing at once.
I forgot to mention that once the sides are done and the floor is the last thig to paint, I cover up the box sides with bed sheets and plastic, and stand on a crate so I can reach over the box sides in order to reach the center.
Good luck and have fun.
