My paint jobber suggested using this to save $50 on a gallon rather than a custom mix to paint an entire car. I am use to mixing by ratio of say 3:1 or 4 to 1. On this it says use basemaker to reduce 75-100% and use 1 oz of ChromaPremier activator per quart. I thought basemaker was activator. and I assume that 75% would be 3 parts base to 1 part basemaker?

Mix Ratio/Viscosity
Reduce DuPont™ G9900S™ 75 - 100% with Basemaker®. For optimum performance, DuPont™ G9900S™
should be activated with ChromaPremier® 12305S™ Activator. Mix DuPont™ G9900S™ with Basemaker®, stir
thoroughly, then activate: add 1 ounce (31.3 g) of ChromaPremier® 12305S™ to a ready-to-spray quart of color,
or ˝ ounce (15.6 g) to a ready-to-spray pint.
Viscosity
15 - 17 seconds in a Zahn #2 (DuPont M-222) cup.

I believe that Basemaker is just reducer.

I'm pretty sure that to reduce 100% would mean that for 4 qts of base you use 4 qts of reducer, 75% would be 4 qts base, 3 qts reducer. Basemaker is not activater. If you normally use Chromabase I would highly recommend the Chroma premier hardner. It is not well documented, but it is listed as optional and recommended by Dupont for Chromabase.
