final buffing

I recently painted the panels on my 1948 MGTC with black PPG acrylic lacquer. Yes I know, but I paint in my garage where dust is an issue and I wanted no orange peel and the ability to do easy touch up as needed. This was a total bare metal strip with primer and block sanding of lacquer based products. The panels have sat for two months and I have now wet sanded a couple of doors ending up with 2000 grit paper. Then buffing with Martin Senour TECnique compound on a 3M 05725 pad. Final glaze with 3M Perfect It II, 05995 on the same type 05725 type pad. This has come out quite smooth and shiny. But maybe because this is black, I am still seeing what I would call swirl marks in the finish. Any suggestions to take this finish to the next level? Thanks

You might try rubbing it out by hand with foam pad glaze, 5996. Use a hydrophilic sponge and wipe off with microfiber cloth. Really, even wax on a hydrophilic sponge will eventually get you a great shine. Just be careful not to use anything with a harsh abrasive.
