hey, i would greatly appreciate any help i can get, my problem i have a fiberglass hood that i painted with acrylic enamel paint. i laid down a coat of black paint, waited 15 minutes, then another, 15 mins, then when i got to the clear coat i followed the ratios but it started comming out thick, like drops instead of a fine spray. the ratio that was described to me was 2paint:1 on reducer, and 8paint:1 on the hardener. i tried wet sanding with 1000 grit to see if i could knock down the clear, but no luck, could anyone help me with the clear problem? and then what would be the best way to go out preping the hood to repaint? thanks alot for any adice... really apprecaite it.

What is the name of the products you were using?
Something doesn't sound right here. Usually the ratio of paint to additives the paint stays constant (2:1:1) where "2" is the measure of paint.
Clear or paint coming out like droplets to me sounds like the gun is not atomizing the product correctly. That could be from having the material knob on the gun set incorrectly for that material, air pressure to low for that material, or the material is mixed improperly (too thick).
You can step down to P800 or P600 if you intended to repaint, that should help "cut" faster. But be careful not to hit primer.
Let us know what products you were using.
