Are all tack rags equal? Is there a preference or alternative to generic paint store rags? I don't want to screw up a whole bunch of invested time and materials for something stupid like the wrong tack rag or technique.
Thanks!

Len in his video talks about some kind of foam pad moistened and used to tack the surface. I was curious for more information.
Thanks,

About the ones filles with too much shellac that can be harmful to use. I'm sure you remember from years ago there was a long couple month on and off again series of posts on the subject.
I'm calling on you for your great memory and the fact that you answered him first off. Hope all is doing great with you. Henry

It should also be pointed out that you don't use any pressure when using a tac rag. If you push down hard on the tac rag then it will leave a reside that comes off the tac rag which can contaminate the paint (cause fish eyes).
Henry brought up a good point. In retrospect not all tac rags are created equal. I haven't seen any bad ones in many years but with everyting coming from China lately ???
The ones I use come in a red and clear plastic bag with the CRYSTAL (regular) logo on it.

yellow tac rags are not to be used with the urathane paints. Use the blue ones and I don't remember the difference I was told but a definete from one of the top shops I know of.
He takes them and opens them up completely then holds it in his cupped hands and blows on them a bit to kind of wake them up.
